Today is our 5th and final day of “change your words, change
your life.” Today we are “trading the world’s lies
for a world of love”. The media bombards us with so many lies about
what we should look like, how we should act, and what we “need to have” in
order to be happy. It can be hard to
navigate through these negative influences, but if we can turn our words and
thoughts to LOVE instead of lies, we will break free from the chains the world often
places on us.
“No matter where I have walked in life, I have found a common goal existing
in every heart. Everyone is searching
for purpose and peace of mind. Our souls and hearts long for internal
peace. But that peace can’t be found in
a beauty magazine or on the television screen or in a bigger house or better
income. If we are not careful, we will allow the enemy to steal our peace and
purpose by what we watch and read and listen to.” (Sheri Rose Shepherd, Freedom
for His Princess)
The dictionary defines these two words as follows:

Love: unselfish, loyal,
and benevolent concern for the good of another; strong affection for another arising out of kinship
or personal ties
Our CHALLENGE for today is to take a day long “media
fast/love feast”. For 24 hours, or
longer if you can, “fast” from all forms of media (no reading beauty magazines,
no watching television, no surfing the internet), and instead “feast” on all
things that encourage love (spending time with family and friends, taking a walk
in a beautiful place, writing in your gratitude journal). After a day of “fasting”
from the negative lies of the world and “feasting” on the uplifting love of the
world, see if your mind is more clear and if you feel more at peace. Just think what could happen to our world if
we all fasted from the lies and replaced them with love!
As we conclude our 5 days of “changing our words to change our lives”,
